Many people have been calling this a sad week for Motorsport. While I completely agree, it is the families and friends left behind that I feel truly sorry for. I am sure that both IndyCar and Moto GP can endeavor to find new ways to make the sport as safe as possible for their competitors. I’ve not followed IndyCar, but I’m a big fan of Moto GP. Marco Simoncelli was very distinctive, and during the Moto GP this year he seemed to cause a stir between the drivers with some of his risk-taking.
“Marco was flamboyant on and off the track. When someone dies, everyone always says they loved life. But he had a very vibrant personality. He already had a huge fanbase around the world, partly down to aggressive riding – but also because he was just a cool guy. He didn’t take himself too seriously and would have been a big star for next year.”
Matt Roberts – BBC MotoGP presenter

I’m still gutted by it. RIP Marco – but God bless him and all the others for doing what they do!
